Many Arsenal fans are dissatisfied with the poster that William Saliba displayed in his home gym, which he recently shared with the public. Since suffering an injury in March, the Gunners’ pivotal center-back, who has been inconsistent this season, has seen his form decline.
Saliba has set up a home gym in order to keep himself active going forward. Since his contract is up for renewal in the summer of 2024, some supporters are taking this makeover as a sign that he is committed to staying with the club for the long haul.
His gym area design, though, has come under fire from more critical voices. A photo of Saliba in his gym with a poster of Chicago Bulls greats Dennis Rodman, Scottie Pippen, and Michael Jordan was shared online by Saliba. However, viewers were upset by the depiction of Arthur and Tommy Shelby, two characters from Peaky Blinders.
“Great that he’s considering staying, but holy cringe, having Peaky Blinders posters on your walls.” — a sardonic fan commented. “Love the guy, but fetishizing Peaky Blinders is a sackable offense,” another person said. A third supporter said it like it is: “Get him sold.”
Some fans were more tolerant, remarking, “Thomas Shelby in the background, I like that.” However, not all of Saliba’s supporters were persuaded that his home gym hinted to a new contract. Also, “He’s put a running machine in a shed,” said one of his backers. I am uncertain if this indicates his desire to get into a new agreement.
