Eminem’s fans were initially excited about his new album announcement, but a surprising turn of events dashed their hopes.

In an April Fools’ Day prank, Eminem shared a trailer for an album announcement on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). The trailer featured tweets from fans eagerly requesting a new album from Slim Shady, leading them to believe that their wishes were about to come true. However, it was soon revealed that the trailer was actually for Em’s 1996 album, Infinite.

The narrator in the visual stated, “The highly anticipated next studio album goes back to where it all started. Infinite but now it’s even more infinite. Out today.”

Although Eminem’s Stans fell victim to the harmless prank on April Fools’ Day, it remains unclear if they found it amusing.

Despite the prank, there is good news for fans as Dr. Dre recently confirmed that Eminem will be releasing a new album soon. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last month, the renowned producer shared, “Let me tell you something, let me explain something to you right now: Eminem is working on his own album, which is coming out this year. I actually talked to him, and he said it’s okay for me to make that announcement right here on this show. So he has an album coming out, I’ve got songs on it, and it’s fire. I’m actually gonna hear the entire album for the first time tomorrow.”
