Millionaire Eminem surprises fans with what phone he still uses in 2024

While you might expect superstars to be flaunting cutting-edge technology, Eminem has stunned fans with the phone he uses.

A rare photo showed The Real Slim Shady scrolling, if the antique phone even has that feature.

In fact, the phone is so old that enthusiasts believe it is the latest in an elaborate hoax.

Eagle-eyed admirers discovered the old gadget in an Instagram post tagged with Eminem by DJWhooKid.

The caption read: “And by the way, yes.” He still carries a BlackBerry phone.

With over 3,500 likes (at the time of writing), enthusiasts probed deeper after the image was shared on Reddit.

Some admirers believe the joke is similar to his other long-running joke about his selfie talents.

“One user responded: ‘”I mean, blackberry phones don’t even work anymore so… I’m inclined to believe he’s running with the joke too. It’s his classic, dry style of humour,” said one

“This is clearly a joke he runs with. Lol. And the technology thing is also a running joke. The guy is a global star who has traveled the world and back. And also produces/ mixes music etc. he knows how to take a selfie and use a phone/ computer. lol,” said a second.

Others were simply filled with nostalgia over the retro tech.

“I loved my blackberry, I dont blame him. I hated my first android when I got it and still rolled with the bbm app for years,” one said wistfully.

“And other respected Eminem for his retro collection, with one fan commenting: ‘”Respect. I still have a PS2 and an ipod nano!” agreed a second.

Instagram/DJWhooKidWhile many people equate fame and money with cutting-edge technology, such as Pharrell Williams, who was among the first to be sighted in the Tesla Cybertruck, many others are far more humble.

Daniel Radcliffe famously bought a $5,000 automobile despite having millions of dollars in the bank.

Furthermore, Elon Musk lives in a small $50,000 home and frequently sleeps beneath desks in his offices.

When you think about money, you generally envision people with the latest and greatest.

For example, has been photographed driving and attempting to park the recently introduced Tesla Cybertruck.

After its release in 1999, the Blackberry smartphone became a global hit.

In late 2013, BlackBerry had 85 million users.

However, numbers rapidly decreased over the next decade as iPhones and Androids became the new things that everyone wanted to own.

BlackBerry smartphones were officially “decommissioned” in January 2022.

In other words, the Canadian company’s phones are officially inoperable.

According to Screen Rant, BlackBerry has shifted its attention to cybersecurity and encryption services.

Is it a scam, or is Blackberry employing the Grammy-winning singer to declare, “Guess who’s back, back again”.
