Taylor Swift stormed the stage at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday for the first night of her Australian Eras tour, her largest concert to date.

The 34-year-old global megastar stunned the crowds as she strutted out in style for the highly anticipated event, which marked the start of her first Australian tour since 2018.

She pulled out all the stops to provide her typical high-energy performance to the 96,000 excited Swifties who gathered in Melbourne for the unforgettable night.

While Swiftie frenzy has gripped Australia in the run-up to the event, the night also marked Taylor’s biggest show ever, with nearly 100,000 fans filling the MCG.

Despite having previously performed in enormous sporting stadiums across the United States, the first night of her Australian tour shattered records, as she had never performed in front of a crowd of more than 74,000 people.

In addition to the immense throng inside the arena, a large number of people stood outside the grounds, despite not having gotten tickets, to hear the epic setlist.

Taylor opened the record-breaking night with a leggy performance in her distinctive jewelled silver and pink leotard, which she paired with matching knee-high boots.

Taylor later changed into a breathtaking gold tasselled little dress, which she wore with matching glittering boots, continuing her tour trend of making an astounding number of costume changes.
