Statham prefers practicality over relying on visual effects, showcasing his physicality in dealing with explosive car chases or battling colossal prehistoric sharks. He believes that anyone can be put in a superhero costume and have stunt doubles handle the action on a greenscreen, but he finds inspiration in real stars who can truly perform.

Interestingly, Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios, revealed that he had offered Statham a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but it didn’t work out due to scheduling conflicts. Feige even received a gracious phone call from Statham apologizing for the missed opportunity. Although Statham has yet to appear in the MCU, it’s possible that he may reconsider in the future, given the olive branch extended by Feige and the notion that the door remаins open.
