This morning (February 15), in the first leg of the AFC Champions League round of 16, Al Nassr defeated Al Feiha with a goal from Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo raced to accept Marcelo Brozovic’s assist in the 82nd minute of the game against Al Feiha. Using his remarkable stretch, he finished over the goalkeeper to give Al Nassr a 1-0 victory.
To do this, CR7 produced a number of tracks. Apart from reaching the landmark of 1,000 club appearances, Ronaldo made history by being the first player to score in 23 consecutive calendar years, starting from 2002 till the present. Not content to stop there, he also owns the records for most goals scored in history (874 goals) and most victories (796 matches).
Ronaldo rescued Al Nassr in the last minutes.
With a late goal from the 39-year-old, Al Nassr was able to escape a poor defeat against Al Feiha. For the majority of the game, Coach Luis Castro’s team was helpless against the opposition’s formidable defence and could only prevail because of CR7’s heroic performance.
With a 1-0 victory on the opposing team’s pitch, Ronaldo and his teammates will have a significant lead going into the second leg on February 22. Al Nassr is yet to claim an AFC Champions League victory. The capital side Riyadh fell to Persepolis and Al Hilal in the two semi-finals of the 2019–20 and 2020–21 seasons, respectively.
Al Nassr confidently hopes to capture the first AFC Champions League trophy in the club’s history, possessing the form and style of a five-time European champion such as Ronaldo.
Ronaldo will only have three days off following his encounter against Al Feiha before facing Al Fateh in the Saudi national championship. Al Nassr is rated second in the domestic tournament, 7 points behind Al Hilal, the top team (46 versus 53).
