Arsenal midfielder Kai Havertz recently revealed that he had spoken to teammate Declan Rice before both players joined the club. Havertz, who took some time to settle into life in North London, expressed that he and Rice had connected prior to their transfers to Arsenal. 

The German international shared in an interview with the Football Daily YouTube channel that they had exchanged messages, discussing their moves and getting to know each other. He also praised Rice’s abilities on the pitch, highlighting his importance to the team and describing him as a funny guy.

Since joining Arsenal, Rice has become a regular starter under manager Mikel Arteta, featuring in 29 matches across all competitions this season. He has been a consistent presence in both Premier League and UEFA Champions League games for the Gunners.

 On the other hand, Havertz initially struggled to find his form after joining Arsenal but has shown improvement under Arteta’s guidance. He has scored crucial goals against Brentford, Lens, and Luton Town, tallying three goals for the club. Prior to his move, Havertz had only managed one goal in 30 appearances for his former club, Chelsea.

Overall, Havertz and Rice have formed a connection both on and off the pitch, contributing to Arsenal’s success and showcasing their individual talents as part of the team.
