By 4:00PM on June 16th, news had spread that there was a special day of pickup on the way. Layers of people surrounding the court as the local team fought it out. We heard a week ago that World Cup winner and PSG/France forward Kylian Mbappé might stop by to play. Excitement, eagerness, and excitement flooded the air at Estadio de Dogtown, creating an absolutely incredible environment as everyone awaited Kylian’s arrival. 

When Mbappe arrived and took to the court, the anticipation quickly evolved into absolute awe and amazement. Four of our top youth prospects had the opportunity to play against and alongside Mbappe, an experience they will remember forever.  His play, flicks, and trickery were all incredible to see for any soccer fan, and having a sideline perspective of them was riveting for the entire stadium. However, it appeared that everyone was drawn to his aura, presence, and charismatic personality. 

VBFC takes pleasure in giving back to the community by providing a safe atmosphere for young boys and girls in Venice to pursue their soccer goals. Mbappe, who is only 20 years old, has already won a World Cup, become the second most expensive player in history, won the 2018/19 French league player of the year, and donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to a charity that helps disabled children participate in sports, making this collaboration and visit all the more meaningful. Two groups are giving back to benefit the youth in the future.
