Cristiano Ronaldo has added a mega-mansion on ‘Billionaires Island’ in Dubai to his already impressive real estate holdings.
If you’re not aware of ‘Billionaires Island,’ it’s called Jumeirah Bay Island, and it’s a secret Dubai enclave for the ultra-rich.
According to Bloomberg, the Portuguese superstar will move into his new mega-mansion sometime in 2024.
After all, Forbes estimates his net worth to be about $136 million, and he isn’t hesitant to spend his hard-earned money.
Recently, the center-forward flew back to Madeira, Portugal, to surprise his mother with a Porsche for her birthday.
And when Ronaldo recruited his friend, Brazilian musician Luan Santana, to perform at his New Year’s Eve celebration, he gave him a $40,000 Rolex watch.
Back to the mega-mansion, while specifics are unknown, it is estimated to have cost tens of millions of euros.
For comparison, a different property for sale on Billionaires Island is 30,000 square meters and includes six bedrooms, exclusive beach access, a seven-car garage, a spa, a swimming pool with a view of downtown Dubai, and on-site staff accommodations.
As for why it’s called Billionaires Island, it’s unsurprising that the number of billionaires residing there per square kilometer is apparently higher than anywhere else in the UAE.
According to Bloomberg, the island has quickly attracted wealthy Saudis, Israelis, Indians, and Russians since its inception in 2017.
During the early stages of the pandemic, a developer reportedly began acquiring land on the remote, seahorse-shaped Jumeirah Bay Island.
After several years of building, 10 mega-mansions have been completed, with Dubai-based developer Palace Luxury Living disclosing that the villas were projected to fetch $545 million in total, with an average price of $54.5 million per property.
The island, which is part of a private community, features many fine-dining restaurants, a yacht club, and a beach resort, as well as direct views of the open sea and the iconic Burj Khalifa construction.
Furthermore, some wealthy persons who do not own property on the island continue to utilize it as a base, staying at the aforementioned luxury resort during their excursions to Dubai.
Cristiano Ronaldo is scheduled to spend time at his new mega-mansion with his partner, Georgina Rodriguez, and his five children, with a two-hour trip from Riyadh, his home base in Saudi Arabia.
