Erling Haaland might be able to make a comeback on January 31 when Manchester City plays Burnley in the Premier League.
Due to a foot ailment, the 23-year-old has missed City’s last nine games, including their victory in the Club World Cup last month.
The Times reports that on the last day of the team’s warm-weather camp in Abu Dhabi, Haaland finished a whole training session without experiencing any soreness.
Haaland’s return to City is reportedly “taking it steady,” and the team’s FA Cup fourth-round matchup with Tottenham on Friday may be too soon for their top scorer.
It is believed that playing Burnley again at the end of the month or traveling to Brentford for City’s next Premier League match on February 5 is a more achievable goal.
On Monday, Erling Haaland participated in an entire training session with Man City (Instagram)Following his win at the Globe Soccer Awards last week as the best men’s player for 2023, Haaland remarked, “Manchester City is a fantastic club; I really enjoy being here.”
‘I hope to be back really soon from injury, I’m getting bored of not playing.’
‘The doctors decided to stop for one week and maybe restart in Abu Dhabi.
‘Hopefully at the end of this month he’ll be ready. It [the injury] was a little bit more than we expected in the beginning. It’s a bone, it needs time.
‘Every injury you can do whatever you want but it’s a question of time. When you are injured at the end of November you miss a lot of games. It’s the toughest period.’
