”The Beekeeper” Sets New Record for Jason Statham as First Entry with Highest Ratings in a Franchise.

“The Beekeeper,” the latest action/thriller directed by David Ayer and starring Jason Statham, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Josh Hutcherson, and more, has garnered positive reviews since its release. With a 70% critics score and a 94% audience score on Rоtten Tomatoes, the film has set a surprising record for Statham. It now holds the highest rating among all first entries in Statham-led franchises, being one of only two franchise starters to earn a “Fresh” rating from critics and the first to receive over 90% from audiences.

While Statham has appeared in several franchises throughout his career, including “The Transporter,” “Crank,” “The Expendables,” “The Mechanic,” and “The Meg,” “The Beekeeper” stands out with its impressive ratings. Some of Statham’s standalone films, such as “The Bank Job,” “Spy,” “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,” and “The Italian Job,” also surpass the critics score of “The Beekeeper.”

During an interview, Ayer revealed that Statham did his own stunts in the film, including working with bees. Despite the crew’s initial skepticism, Statham embraced the opportunity and learned beekeeping techniques to perform the scenes.

“The Beekeeper” follows the story of a former operative seeking vengeаnce, with national stakes involved as he confronts a powerful and secretive organization known as the “Beekeepers.”

Statham, along with the film’s writer Kurt Wimmer, will produce the movie alongside Miramax’s Bill Block and Cedar Park Studios’ Chris Long. The collaboration reunites Statham with Miramax, which previously produced “Wrath of Man” and “Operation Fortune: Ruse De Guerre,” both of which Statham starred in.

Bill Block expressed excitement about working with Statham and Ayer once again, praising Kurt Wimmer’s script and the potential for a new action franchise.
