Erling Braut Haaland’s incredibly impressive goal scoring for Manchester City, the reigning Premier League winners, has prompted his detractors to take a vacation.
The 22-year-old’s goal-scoring prowess was already noteworthy before he set foot in England, but since donning the sky-blue jersey, he has truly elevated his game.
Throughout his career, he has scored 155 goals while representing Molde FK, Redbull Salzburg, Dortmund, and City.
If he continues to score goals at this pace, Haaland might end his career as one of the best hitmen in history.
For those who must defend themselves against him, the Norwegian presents a frightening image.
We also don’t blame the opposition because Haaland does seem to have been painstakingly built in a lab by a mad scientist who was concerned with producing the most lethal striker in the world.
However, achieving all of these ambitions comes at a price. And it’s one that would definitely put Haaland’s appetite to the test.
The fastest player in EPL history to hit 15 goals disclosed his amazing diet of 6,000 calories per day in his documentary, “Haaland: The Big Decision.”
“You don’t eat this, but I am concerned with taking care of my body,” the City striker adds in a scene where a butcher is seen chopping slices of cow’s heart and liver for him.
Haaland talked about the current trend of embracing vegan or vegetarian diets as healthier options. The Norwegian hitman, nevertheless, would never give up on his passion for premium meat: “I believe the most important thing is to eat quality food that is as local as possible.” Meat is said to be unhealthy, but for what reasons? The beef that McDonald’s sells? or the nearby cow that’s munching on grass? I consume the liver and heart.
He also claimed to drink filtered water, get 6,000 calories a day, and be exposed to natural sunshine on a daily basis, all of which contributed to his flawless goal-scoring record.
The 22-yr-old said, “The first thing I do in the morning is to get some sunlight in my eyes, it is good for circadian rhythm,”
“I have also started to filtrate my water a bit. I think it can have great benefits for my body.”
Haaland isn’t all alien though, he does enjoy foods that other ordinary people do as well. Foods like lasagne, which his father, former Manchester City player Alfie, prepares for him.
“I’ve had it before every home game now and that turns out fairly well, so there has to be something special he adds to it,”
“I help out very little. I mostly lie on the couch watching him. That’s the way it works.”
Needless to say, whatever Erling Haaland is doing diet and exercise-wise seems to be working for him. But we won’t blame you if his approach isn’t for you.
