As filming progresses for Expendables 4, fans can anticipate seeing Statham once again astride a Ducati, this time the lightning-fast Ducati Superleggera V4. Statham gave fans a glimpse of his adrenaline-pumping ride by sharing a video of himself on the bike, accompanied by captivating photos.
The Ducati Superleggera V4 made its debut in June 2020, with the first model delivered to a devoted Ducati enthusiast, Filip Van Schil from Belgium, who already boasts an impressive collection of five Ducati motorcycles. Van Schil expressed his overwhelming excitement upon receiving the prestigious number 001/500 Superleggera V4. The experience of visiting Borgo Panigale, the Ducati headquarters, and witnessing the passion of the people behind the brand left an indelible mark on him. Van Schil emphasized that Ducati’s unique approach and dedication set them apart from other motorcycle manufacturers.
During a special ceremony held at the Ducati Style Center, Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, unveiled the Superleggera V4 001 and personally presented it to its lucky owner.
What sets the Superleggera V4 apart is its groundbreaking construction. It is the only road-approved motorcycle in the world with a load-bearing structure consisting entirely of composite materials, including the frame, subframe, swingarm, and rims. This innovative design results in a weight reduction of 6.7 kg compared to the Panigale V4 MY20. To ensure top-notch quality and safety standards, these components undergo rigorous inspections using advanced techniques borrowed from the aerospace industry, such as thermography, ultrasound checks, and tomography.
