Nketiah Joins Under Armour’s Growing Roster of Football Athletes, Celebrates with Store Opening. Eddie Nketiah, the talented Arsenal striker, has recently become part of Under Armour’s expanding lineup of football athletes. Joining the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Antonio Rüdiger, Nketiah will proudly wear Under Armour’s Shadow Pro boots on the field, while also representing their latest performance and sport-style products off the pitch.
To mark this exciting partnership, Nketiah celebrated by attending the grand opening of Under Armour’s new brand house on Oxford Street. This premier location adds to the success of previous store debuts at Westfield Stratford, Battersea Power Station, and Liverpool ONE in 2023. During the store launch event, Nketiah engaged in a Q&A session hosted by Nicole Holliday, a TV presenter and devoted Arsenal fan.
The discussion touched upon the dedication required to be a professional athlete in London, as well as Nketiah’s advice for aspiring talents on their journey to success. The UA Next Athletes in the audience found inspiration in his words, as many of them aspire to become Premier League footballers themselves.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the collaboration, Eddie Nketiah shared, “I’m thrilled to partner with Under Armour, a brand that has a rich history of working with exceptional athletes who share the same competitive mindset as me. As a Londoner who has firsthand experience of the challenges in reaching the pinnacle of club football, I admire what the brand is doing to support young athletes through the UA Next London program. I am eager to play my part in this endeavor.”
Karla Trent, the Managing Director EMEA at Under Armour, praised Nketiah’s determination and work ethic, highlighting his suitability as a role model for the UA Next program and a valuable addition to their esteemed roster of football athletes.
The design of the Oxford Street store draws inspiration from the City of London and the iconic London Tube. Locally crafted black and white tiles adorn the store, symbolizing Under Armour’s close ties with the city and its players.
Nketiah made a memorable debut for Under Armour, scoring a goal in a 2-2 draw against Fulham while wearing their gear. This marked the beginning of an exciting journey as an ambassador for the brand, and Nketiah aims to continue making a significant impact both on and off the field.
